Downtown Santa Ana Block Parties- 3rd Saturdays

Hello there, reader! Happy summer! Let me ask you something: is there anything more splendid than the onset of summer? Longer days, brighter nights, afternoons by the pool, weekends at the beach! Avocados are in their high season, as well as berries, cherries, and watermelons! Festivals, movies at the park, beach concerts, peeling skin (Shout out to my fellow fair-skinned cronies, for whom "peeling skin" is a regular summer occurrence)!

I don't know about you, but my social life seems to get a big boost during the summer, and I think it has a lot to do with the surplus of cool outdoor summer activities and events our lovely county has to offer during these prime estival months. Be sure to check back weekly (if not daily), for our updates on cool local events in the coming months. We've got the scoop on the haps! ...Already regretting that phrase.

One such uber cool event coming up is Posse on Broadway, the Santa Ana summer music series/block party going on the third Saturday of each month this summer. The first of the series happens this month, on June 19th, and will bring in the likes of The Watson Twins, OC local musician Barrett Johnson, DJ Weird Beard, J. Logic, EVOL, DCON, noMSG, Sean K, and more! And that's just the first night, folks. Here's the lineup for June 19th:

Now in its third annual year, Posse on Broadway brings live music and top DJ’s to the streets and venues of Downtown Santa Ana. A block party featuring 6 venues, 6 events, every 3rd Saturday of the summer June 19, July 17 and August 21. The series is sponsored by KCRW, LA Record and OC Weekly.

June 19 Posse presents a FREE outdoor concert with darling LA folk outfit The Watson Twins and local singer songwriter Barrett Johnson from 6-9pm on the 2nd Street Promenade. Directly following the concert, Proof Bar, Memphis Santora, The Crosby, Gypsy Den and Lola Gaspar host live music, DJ’s, and food and drink specials until the last call.

Visit Downtown Santa Ana online for more info.

* Save the Date for 2nd installment of Posse on Broadway, July 17 with a special free concert with Abandoned Pools (Tommy Walter of The Eels) and local band The Colourist.

  1. Love that there are more things to do in Santa Ana. Also, the 3rd Saturday of the month is the Santiago Art District art walk. It starts at 7:00PM. The July art walk will be TROPICALFEST with island music, hula girls, Hawaiian food, and more
