Divine Desserts Etc. and Crush Wine Bar & Restaurant

While driving to work the other day, behind a U.S. Foodservice truck, I read this sweet little line: Enjoy life, eat out more often. Last week, I ate like a true king. I indulged in red velvet cupcakes, red wine, and red meat. I have absolutely no regrets! In fact, today I will share with you about the two local culinary delights that satisfied my palette and left me begging for more.

1. Divine Desserts Etc.  located in Laguna Niguel, in the Plaza de La Paz Center
Divine Desserts Etc. is a lovely local bakery that recently paid The OC Gazette staff a special surprise visit. They offer cupcakes, cookies, muffin tops, frosting shots (oooh baby!), and more. From flavors like German Chocolate, Sm'ores Cake, and Cookie Dough to White Chocolate Raspberry, Carrot and Banana, they have the flavor spectrum covered. There are over 20 of them. They even make mini and ice cream cupcakes. Look for their ad in the next issue of The OC Gazette for some seriously sweet deals! Thank you Divine Desserts! We LOVE you! We recommend...everything!

2. Crush Wine Bar & Restaurant  located in Lake Forest
Crush Wine Bar & Restaurant is a wonderful restaurant where Chef Albert Constandine has created a menu that combines American cuisine with European flair, and he also offers 200 wine selections. My family and I were greeted at the door by Chef Albert himself, who immediately poured us a taste of sparkling wine. We went on to try the red wine flight from Hidden Ridge Vineyard, which included tastings of their 2004, 2005, and 2006 Cabernet Sauvignon. Delicious! I ordered the rib-eye steak special with goat cheese mashed potatoes and perfectly crisp asparagus. People, let me tell you, it was the juiciest, piping-hot-off-the-grill steak I have ever tasted. If you need a venue to romance your honey (house vocalist Paco will do the serenading) or a place to kick off your shoes and indulge yourself after a long work week, Crush is the perfect local spot.

Find them at: 22741 Lambert Street, Lake Forest

Bon appetit my friends!
