Why Paul Tran Loves OC

featuring PAUL TRAN

Our next installment of our month-long love letter to Orange County (entitled Why We Love OC) spotlights Paul Tran, local Anaheim native and jack of all trades. This guy's got his fingers in more pies than Sweeney Todd. He's a restauranteur (he founded the famous Cajun Corner restaurant in Westminster and will be opening another restaurant in mid 2010), he's an advisor on wealth management and franchise developement (he was recently featured in MSN Money) he's got a heart the size of Texas (not only is he one of the friendliest and encouraging people you'll ever meet, he's the co-creator of ConnectOC, a non-profit group bringing OC's businesses, government and community leaders, and charitable organizations together to help others), and despite being a workaholic with all these projects, he somehow finds time to also be a knight in shining armor to his girlfriend Jennifer Ho. He should start a motivational speaking program to let us in on his secret if you ask me! So without further ado, Paul Tran's witty and poetic list of reasons why he loves this great county of ours.

"BLOOD IS THICKER THAN WATER:
All of my family members are here. Yay for free babysitting!
THE "GOLD RUSH" NEVER LEFT:
This is where I built my wealth and business - The Cajun Corner restaurant in the city of Westminster and Focal Point Financial in Anaheim. Our economy rocks!
SOCIALIZING IS PART OF HUMAN NATURE:
The nicest, most hard-working people live here. I'm proud to associate with them.
LOVE CONQUERS ALL:
This is where I met the girl of my dreams!
SAFETY & EDUCATION ARE PARAMOUNT TO ME:
This is where I'm raising my future kiddies.
STAYING YOUNG IS THE KEY TO LIVING FOREVER:
Disneyland and Knotts Berry Farm make it easy
HEALTH IS MORE IMPORTANT THAN WEALTH:
We have the healthiest and most active lifestyle here.
LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION:
Mr. Sun likes hangin' out with us and we're close by to everywhere we want to be.
In short...I LOVE ORANGE COUNTY TO REESE'S PIECES!"

Stay Tuned for more entries throughout the month of February!

  1. Unbelievably, after all this time of knowing @PaulTTran, I did NOT even realize he is a restauranteur, and non-profit founder as well as a financial guru! I DID catch his bigger-than-Texas-there-in-OC heart. Great article on a wonderful person! Yay, Paul Tran. You make me love OC so much that I plan to fly out there for some uh...mud run?

  2. Hooray! Thrilled you're coming to the Mud Run in April Gina. And of course, @PaulTTran will be there --he was a hoot at the last. Paul is one of the many reasons I'm thankful for Twitter; if Twitter had never been invented, I would have missed out on meeting him. And he’s so fantastic, I can't even fathom it. Keep shining Mr. Tran and thank you for all you do to make Orange County a friendlier, more connected philanthropic place. Many thanks to The Gazette for featuring such a kind and benevolent entrepreneur. More like this please.

  5. I only know Paul through Twitter, but he's such a warm, genuine person I feel like we're true friends and a lot closer than the actual 3000 miles that seperate us. He's so positive and uplifting that I have several of his tweets marked as favorites. I'm not sure he knows how much he means to me. Paul is definitely an big asset to Orange County; not as big as Mickey Mouse, but close.

  6. Hey, Paul, I really enjoyed this piece and getting to know a little bit about your entrepreneurial accomplishments. Kind of makes me jealous that we don't have anything like this going on in Memphis! Lol, good job man. I especially enjoyed your humor, wit, and passion for OC.

  7. I've had to pleasure of meeting Paul in Summer 2009. It's amazing how much he's accomplished in the duration it takes many to take that first step towards building something successful.

I've come across many individuals who possess Paul's capabilities, but he also takes the necessary actions to see his goals become reality. I'm thrilled to see that Paul is one of the OC individuals under the spotlight by The OC Gazette in "Why I Love OC."

A notable addition to his list of talents...Paul jokes that he "had a successful pop singing career until the karaoke machine broke." Featured as one of his stellar qualities in this blog, paul genuinely shows how he appreciates life and the people he surrounds himself with. I wouldn't be surprised if through his efforts he finds a way to bring karaoke machines to all, so they, too, can share in the positive energy he apparently zapped from that karaoke machine's final squelch and spreading that viral enery to others he interacts with.

Grateful that our paths have crossed. - Love Ya My Friend!
